Lou’s Bake Stop in Balfron

I follow many cafes and bakers on Instagram but one account that stood out to me was Lou’s Bake Stop. The cakes looked amazing and I was looking forward to when I could visit. Now with the easing of lockdown restrictions, Lou’s Bake Stop re-opened in July 2020 after the lockdown you can bet your magic stars that I took a little drive here!

Lou’s Bake Stop is at Woodend Farm in Balfron which is a little village in Stirlingshire and only 16 miles out of Glasgow.

Once you get there, you’ll see a cute little blue hut and inside, there’s shelves of cakes with an honesty box. The traybakes are £2, scones £1.50 and the loaf cakes are £3.50 – the hardest part for me was deciding what I wanted as everything looked so good. When I went, there was Biscoff Millionaire (extremely good), Rocky Road (also lovely), Mint Aero Slice, Lemon Coconut Slice, Scones, Gingerbread Loaf and Kinder Brownies.

You pop your money into a little box and there’s a tub of change too – I hope everyone is very honest about what they buy as the cakes are so good!

Due to Coronavirus only one person should be in the hut at a time, bring along a mask before you go in and use the hand sanitiser on the outside of the hut to keep everyone safe.
